Motivation isn’t your problem (and never was)

There’s a quote tucked inside Viktor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning that’s stayed with me for years which reinforces:

Why Vision Is More Powerful Than Motivation.

“Those who have a ‘why’ to live, can bear with almost any ‘how’.”

When you don’t know what you’re moving toward, life starts to feel like survival not creation and you’re more likely to mistake motion for meaning.

Planning is adhoc and usually short-term

Second-guessing and procrastination are frequent visitors

And if you’re honest your self-confidence takes a hit

You might think they need more discipline or motivation.

But what you actually need is a clear direction that feels like yours.

=> Studies show that people with a clear vision experience more focus, less stress, and greater emotional well-being even before they achieve any specific goal.

It’s not about willpower. It’s about knowing where you’re headed, and why it matters.

Frankl’s entire psychotherapeutic model, was built on this core insight:

“Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose.”

Frankl’s legacy is a beautiful reminder that meaning isn’t something we find, it’s something we create, moment by moment, choice by choice.
