I remember sitting at my desk in a corporate tower many years ago pushing out work at what felt like light speed.  I felt anxious most of the day because no matter how much I did and how fast I did it,  I felt my co-workers worked faster and more productively than me.  I’d take 15 minutes to inhale lunch at my desk (I have never done that since – please never do this) while reading dozens of emails that required a reply.  Each night when I got home from work, usually after 7.30pm I’d force myself to do some exercise, cook something simple and healthy then collapse onto my bed from utter exhaustion. Most nights as I’d close my eyes I could hear myself repeating “this job feels like hell how can I make my life better”.

What I didn’t realise at the time was, I was directing most of my mental energy towards how much I disliked my job and I made that mean my life was crap but that wasn’t true.  The more energy I gave that unsupportive thought, the more stressed and anxious I became.  I could feel the tension rising across my back and shoulders.  My chest got tighter and tighter and my jaw ached most of the time because it was clenched.   Then it dawned on me.   What I was choosing to think was making my experience allot worse, and I needed to take responsibility for that, and when I did my life got a whole lot better.

Nothing changes, if nothing changes.

I decided to marshal my creativity to solve my way through this dilemma.  Easier said than done.  It’s difficult to tap into creative energy when you’re stressed.  That’s because stress locks us out of the creative area of our brain.   I also needed the equivalent of a prayer in a bottle, to bring calm relief to my mind and body at any time of the day when I felt stress increasing.

Tip #1

Avoid trying to solve any problem when you’re feeling quite stressed.  It’s a big fat waste of time. Work on getting calm and centred before you attempt anything else.

While I’m a huge advocate of meditation, getting to calm and centred was easier to accomplish for me when I sprayed Sacred Light Aromatherapeutic Mist around myself first and took a couple of breaths to inhale its soothing scent before I began to meditate.  It’s a blend of 7 essential oils that are energised and blessed to uplift and restore our physical and spirit self.  I used the Mist before meditation most days and I took it to work and sprayed it around my desk a couple of times throughout the day. It helped me feel calmer instantly and more poised.  Within a few weeks, I no longer viewed my job as a drudge, I had stopped rushing around the office and began taking my lunch outside in the sunshine, but more than that, I had achieved something quite remarkable.  Each time I held and used the bottle of Sacred Light Aromatherapeutic Mist and sprayed it over my head or around my space and inhaled it, I was creating mini moments of pause, self awareness and reflection.  The accumulated effect of those moments created a breakthrough to a level of mind where my imagination, intuition and creativity showed me a way forward in my career that I was truly inspired and energised about.  I was amazed by how happy I felt.  I now viewed my job as an important stepping stone to financing my career transition.  I didn’t need to compare my work to anyone else.  What I brought to the business was as unique as what my co-workers brought and that gave me confidence to feel more at ease.  After my breakthrough, when drifting off to sleep my last thought had also improved.  I focused on being grateful for that day by noticing the small things that had made a positive difference to me, that practise remains unchanged to this day.

Tip #2

By introducing a subtle, energised scent around yourself and the space you’re in, like Sacred Light Aromatherapeutic Mist the scent works to guide your awareness towards your limbic brain, often referred to as our emotional centre. It’s the place that helps you identify how you are feeling.  From there you can explore why you feel as you do, which can lead you away from the life you feel stuck with and towards the one you want to create.

Also, the vibrational frequency emitted by the notes of essential oils in the Mist, can support you towards experiencing a more energised state of mind and body.  To fully understand how this is possible it needs to be experienced. Think of it this way, when your thoughts weigh you down they hold a vibrational frequency that is unsupportive.  In contrast, when you have thoughts that make you feel light and bright, they emit a vibrational frequency that is supportive to your wellbeing.

When we set things right in our inner world, it has a knock effect in our outer world.

Inhaling the scent of Sacred Light Aromatherapeutic Mist can take you out of your head and back into your body.  When you need it most, that alone can be priceless.

When stress threatens to short-circuit your ability to access the clarity you need to design the way forward towards a more rewarding career, improving your relationships, navigating through health concerns or just being more in the moment to make a decision the right one.  Discover for yourself what Sacred Light Aromatherapeutic Mist can do for you.
